Il progetto Fantasies nasce e si sviluppa tra il 1999 e il 2005, a partire dall’incontro fortuito di due progetti fotografici di Lisa Kereszi. Nella sua ricerca sugli interni vuoti dei locali notturni, una notte del 1999 la fotografa approda allo Show World, uno strip club di Times Square nel cuore di New York, dove assiste a uno spettacolo di New Burlesque. Quella notte Lisa Kereszi scatta la fotografia di una ballerina, Dirty Martini, dando così inizio al suo lavoro fotografico sul burlesque.

The Fantasies project born and evolved itself between 1999 and 2005, from the chance encounter of two photographic projects by Lisa Kereszi. In her exploration of the empty interiors of nightlife venues, one night in 1999, the photographer arrives at Show World, a strip club in Times Square, in the heart of New York, where she attended a New Burlesque performance. On that night, Lisa Kereszi took a photo to a dancer, Dirty Martini, thus initiating her photographic work on burlesque.
